Meet Joy
Eggceptional Fertility Surrogate Ambassador
My first surrogacy journey started in 2024! I matched with the sweetest family, and through that journey, we have fallen in love with the whole process.
I love building a connection with our intended parents. Through getting to know them, we got to experience the love they had already gained for their unborn child. Delivery was another level of emotions. I loved delivery because I got to witness my Intended Parents become mom and dad. The amount of love that exploded in that room was just amazing.
There is something about seeing the love unfold right there in the delivery room! It is such a blessing.. It’s truly fulfilling.

Q and A with Joy
What first led you to consider surrogacy?
I worked at an OBGYN office, and while there, I met someone who did surrogacy. I found it intriguing, so I asked her for more information and she sent me to Eggceptional Fertility. 🙂

How did your family and friends react when you shared your decision?
At first, my family couldn’t believe that I was doing something like surrogacy. After we explained that the baby wasn’t genetically ours, they were excited and all for it. They thought it was a true blessing that I got to help build families.
What surprised you most about your surrogacy journey?
The biggest surprise was how fast I’d want to do another journey. As soon as I delivered my first surro-baby, I told my husband in the recovery room that I wanted to do it again.

How did surrogacy impact you physically and emotionally?
Surrogacy impacted my body like my other pregnancies, so it wasn’t anything unexpected.
Emotionally, I loved the baby in my belly and wanted to protect her, but it was more like an aunt love. I also created a big love in my heart for my intended parents during this journey.
Is there anything you wish people understood better about surrogacy?
I wish people knew about the process of surrogacy. For example, how the embryo is made, who are the parents, how does the baby get into the gestational carrier, etc. I have been asked so many questions and these are the top few.

What advice would you give someone considering surrogacy?
You’re about to go on a 12+ month process with someone, so make sure they align with your values and align with what you want out of the journey. (Communication, delivery, food/supplements, etc.)
How did the financial reward of surrogacy impact your family’s life?
We were able to put money down on a house with money that we received from our journey. We also paid off a credit card we had.

Would you do it again?
I am actually working towards doing another journey right now.
